Leadership Team
Our leadership team consists of the Elders and the Pastoral Team and are the key governance and vision team for Ham South. We meet together monthly for prayer, encouragement and updates on the last month. Here we also have a wider financial update.
Caleb
Caleb joined Ham South at the beginning of 2021 as a second year Pastoral Leadership student from Carey. Caleb and his wife, Charlotte, were both born and raised in the South Island but made the move north for Caleb to continue his training. Caleb has held the position of Youth and Young Adults Worker for a year now and is excited to broaden his role as one of our Interim Pastors and as a part of this, he will also take care of coordinating Sunday gatherings. Caleb has a real passion for youth and young adults and has been an awesome asset to our leadership team.

Mike
Mike is the other of our Interim Pastors. Mike and his family have been a part of the Ham South family for around 20 years now and he is excited to step into a pastoral role here alongside continuing with his work on a dairy farm. Mike's main areas of focus will be preaching and local community engagement.

Pastoral Team Leader
Lucy is currently on Parental Leave until August 2023.
Lucy began as our preaching and teaching pastor in 2019. She grew up at Ham South, and in 2015 began her Pastoral Training at Carey Baptist College. After 2 years interning at Mt Albert Baptist, she returned to Ham South for her final year. Lucy preaches to equip the congregation, always looking to apply the truth of scripture into the life of the community today. Lucy is now our Pastoral Team Leader but her role continues to focus primarily on preaching and teaching. Lucy is married to Josh, and they have 2 cats, Tracey and Gail.

Elders
Our elders are the voted members of the church that work with our pastoral team to communicate our vision and keep working towards it with the congregation. Elders are voted in for 2 year terms, and can serve 3 consecutive terms before requiring a years sabbatical. (See pictured, from left to right: Brian Sullivan, Brian Kendrick, Brian Sunderland, John Hepburn - that's right, the three Brian's!) We have recently welcomed Lois Hanna to our team too.
